Overpriced just like any latest, newest item, but with new features like Voice

10-22-15 I am not the most experienced smartphone user on the planet, but I can figure things out mostly given a little time and practice. The most worthy thing about this phone is its speed. It's blazingly fast due to its twin cores when you have good signal. The S6 has a bunch of cool "Edge" features on it that are completely lost as soon as you put a silicone protector and belt accessory on it to wear on yourself. The curved screen is at risk for surface damage all the time because it sticks up about the same level as the protector. It came with a miniscule sheet protector that didn't even cover 80% of the flat part of the screen. Any protector you buy for it, whether flexible or curved has severe drawbacks such as the flexible ones not staying on due to the curved edges, or the hard ones cracking because they are under stress as soon as they must adhere to the curved edge. Otterbox? Forget it. Somebody needs to design something that protects the phone and screen while letting you use the features for which you paid. As for the phone itself, the features like Voice, camera, apps, syncing, Android Beam, Excel and Word, Memo, etc. that make it a smartphone are very cool and work great. It's a little confusing when trying to access multiple apps back and forth at the same time. Also, trying to talk on the phone while using the different apps can be a little challenging because there is no clear cut way to bring up a new app screen when the phone is showing alternate screens without hitting the back button or the main button and selecting "close", to start over and bring up just the app you want. Getting back to the main screen with other apps open is tedious and usually results in all open apps being closed. It takes great pictures and video. Sound quality is a bit strained most times. Playback of sounds almost seems to come out better than being able to hear a person's voice over the phone. Speaker function works well. Voice command works well. Sound with ear-buds in is not that great. The extra real estate on the screen certainly beats my old Centura phone from Tracfone. Also, the ease of attaching pictures to messages and emails is great. All in all, I could have done just as well if not better with an S5 or a regular S6 and skipped all the edge features. At least the phone should still be worth something after about 4 years. Update 12-25-15 Terribly disappointed today to have to send this phone in for warranty service because the microphone quit working. I can hear other people on calls, but they can't hear me. Also, because the mic doesn't work, the talk to text function has stopped. All the voice activated features depend naturally on the microphone. Reading online shows that this is turning out to be a common problem. I would never buy this phone again given the high price of it and the things I've experienced so far. When it works, it works great, but when it doesn't, it's $809.00 worth of headache and bummer.

    Galaxy S6 Platnium Gold Metropcs

I ordered it on April 2nd, received it USPS Priority Mail April 4th... Delivery was fast... Everything is as described... The box, contents, and the phone looks brand new, no scratches that I could see at all... Promptly took it down to my local Metropcs corporate store. Note, it does not come with a sim card, so you will have to purchase one and have it installed. It appears to work fine... and the representative at the Metro store configured the phone, then used various apps to move data over to from my old Galaxy Advent phone to my new Galaxy S6... I was able to save my old texts, my contact information which is stored on Google transferred across fine... I was not able to transfer photos from the old phone's SD card to new phone... I may have to do that using my PC. The only thing I wanted to mention is that I did not fully charge my phone but it look like it was at 97% charge when I first turned it on... After 5 hours of having it on, given its been handled a lot today transferring data, updating apps, etc.. it's now only at 25% charge... I imagine that this will not be the case tomorrow when I give it a full night's charge, and not be doing so much with it like I had to do today...

    Nice phone, solid design!

I purchased this phone to get back and try the android system again. I've been using iPhones for a long time. This is, basically, a back-up phone. Samsung has a great reputation and builds quality products. It's a very solid, nicely designed phone. The android apps seems to work OK. Battery life is not nearly as good as the iPhone I have. This phone definitely needs to be charged every day. Sometimes I could go 2-3 days on the iPhone before I really had to charge it. It's probably the apps running in the background. That's an Android issue, not Samsung. Overall, it's a good product. There are lots of accessories for this phone out there. Very pleased with the purchase. I'd still go with the iPhone first. But, this is definitely a great alternative.

Samsung please listen to the consumers

So much is right in with this phone but it's still lacking. Wish that you could swap out batteries. Most people I know use their phones all day every day. So battery life is number one. Expandable memory is number two. Style is down the list Do I need the fastest processor? No. Just one that can handle the latest graphics. Am really looking forward to the next Nexus phone one that HTC will build. The user interface is in my opinion the best. But as far as this phone goes it's still a good one would say buy it if it's discounted and by all means get one with 64 or 128gb or you will be scrambling to find space for new apps.

    Great Phone!

The (T-Mobile SM-920T) Samsung S6 is still a great phone in 2017. It's fast, it feels better in your hand Vs the Samsung S5. The finger print scan works 100% better as well, I LOVE it!. The best part is the ability to upgrade the OS to Nougat 7.0. The battery life is fair. If you're a heavy user then you'll need to recharge this during the day. For me, moderate use throughout the day the battery life from 100% at 7AM gets me to 35% by 5PM. That's surfing the net, checking emails and making calls throughout the day and using Waze. For me this was a great purchase.

    Excellent

I researched this phone quite a bit before purchasing it and it has lived up to every feature claimed, and more. I am into VR and this is the perfect phone for that using the Samsung 360 Camera my pictures come alive, especially using their VR goggles. Picture quality is in my opinion perfect and crystal clear and colors vivid, and with 64 Gig internal storage I can take all the pictures I wand without an SD card. Sound quality is great as well as every other feature of this phone, I am more than happy with this purchase.

    Good and bad....

This phone is great! Picture quality is top notch and video quality is not bad either. The only problem is that a few of these phones have a problem where the power button stops working after a few days. I happened to have one of those :/ Fortunately if you bought the 1 year warranty you do not have to worry at all. But since I am a product reviewer I want to return this for a new phone(since I like to keep switching phones to review).

    Great value for price

I really enjoy the upgrades from the S5 to S6 so far. Sleek design, the gold is particularly nice. No lag, crisp display. Product came with generic android instructions that did not necessarily apply to this model, and did not include the sim card tray tool, However, I know how to work a phone and a toothpick worked fine for popping open the tray, so no harm done.

Nice size, with a Great camera, and shipped fast

This Phone has many great features, and the 5.1" screen is just the right screen size for me. The camera lens brings in lots of light for shooting indoors. Although this smartphone is similar to the Galaxy S6 Active that I had, the 2550mAh battery does not stay charged nearly as long as the 3500 mAh in the Active, but still is a fine phone.

Everything is good, except for the battery.

The phone is a really good phone in terms of ergonomics and performance in general. Really, the only thing is the battery. It could drain out really quickly, and you may have to have it replaced if it's causing too many problems. But other than that, it's a solid phone with great features. The camera quality is great.
