Great camera, some design blunders
This phone has one of the best looking screens I've ever seen. The camera optics and resolution are amongst the best. However, the picture-taking software is horrible. I'm testing "Open Camera" and "Manual Camera" apps both of which are 10X better than the on-board "Camera" app that comes with the phone.
In one of the worst design blunders in the age of smartphones, Sony engineers put protruding buttons on the SIDE of the phone. One is the volume rocker and the other activates "Camera". What were they thinking? I've bought a case which covers those up. They still work, you just have to press hard. Now I don't accidentally take a picture when I don't want to.
The notifications bar was not well thought out. The font is extremely tiny. To get to quick settings you swipe down but you have to touch the ^ button only to find that the notifications are still there, then you have to swipe up.
What happened with the sound? I plugged stereo cable into the audio out and nothing happened. I had to download 2 apps to get it to work ("Sound About" and "Smart Connect"). That's ridiculous, it should play from the git-go.
The worst thing is the SD card. Sony has put this extra storage completely out of reach. I can't even create directories on it. This could be Android 6.0.1. Who do they think they're trying to protect us from. On my former htc 610 phone the SD card was completely accessible.
