Ford Expedition Sun Visors

Sun visors are an important part of your Ford Expeditions interior as they help shade your eyes as you drive, increasing overall safety. They can also perform additional functions, such as holding a mirror or providing added storage space for small items like garage remotes, insurance documents, or vehicle registrations. Visor accessories and parts are simple to install, making them an excellent addition to your car.

What attachments are used to install a sun visor?

Most typical front-seat visors are attached to your Ford Expedition using two brackets. One bracket contains the arm that holds the visor itself. This bracket swivels to allow you to move the visor to the side. The other bracket typically contains a clip system or hook that holds the visor up on the opposite side. This attachment is commonly included with the visor, but there are many options available if needed.

How do you replace a sun visor in an Expedition?

A mechanic or auto shop can install a new sun visor in your Expedition; however, it is very simple to do this task on your own, and it can be completed quickly.

  • If needed, use a screwdriver to pop off the trim that covers the screws at the base of each bracket.
  • Unscrew each bracket, removing the visor and the brackets. You may need to use the screwdriver again to pop the brackets out of their sockets. Disconnect any wiring.
  • Position the new brackets. Attach the brackets to the socket and tighten them with the screwdriver. Reconnect the wiring.
  • To check that the new visor works as intended, unclip the visor and swivel it from side to side.
What is an anti-glare visor?

Anti-glare visors are a good option that is used to reduce the glare of water reflections, sunlight, and headlights and taillights. These visors can attach to the windshield or to the existing visor in your Ford SUV, and they simply fold in front of you to eliminate glare. These visors utilize a transparent piece of glass or plastic that is polarized or slightly tinted to reduce the impact of the glare on your eyes. Some lightly tinted models of these visors can be used at night to eliminate the glare of lights.

What types of visors are there for back seat use?

In addition to keeping the eyes of the driver and passenger in the front shaded from glare, visors can also be utilized in the back seats of your Expedition. These visors are commonly manufactured in the form of shades that can be attached to the vehicle ceiling or to the handle above the window, and they can be pulled down to cover the window and retracted as desired. Other visors may use suction cups to stick to the windows, or they may resemble the factory visors that are used above the front seats of the Ford SUV.
